Yes agree 100%. And...maybe this jumping off the proverbial medical diagnosis ship will be like parents during the lockdowns. The epiphany that schools were letting their children down and deciding to take a proactive role in the education of their children instead of staying a parental drone. Eat right, get outside and avoid nihilists with needles. The medical establishment have a name for every little ailment people come up with. I heard a new one the other day..ODD. Here is the definition from...THE MAYO CLINIC. Ironic.

"Even the best-behaved children can be difficult and challenging at times. But if your child or teenager has a frequent and persistent pattern of anger, irritability, arguing, defiance or vindictiveness toward you and other authority figures, he or she may have oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).

As a parent, you don't have to go it alone in trying to manage a child with ODD. Doctors, mental health professionals and child development experts can help.

Behavioral treatment of ODD involves learning skills to help build positive family interactions and to manage problematic behaviors. Additional therapy, and possibly medications, may be needed to treat related mental health disorders."

MY DAD USED TO CALL IT REBELLION. He would have beat the crap out of me if I acted like this to authority figures. Fear of being spanked by a parent when you are a kid turns into respect for those in authority later. But, hey, let's give them drugs when we see we have failed as parental units. Sheesh. If your family is so messed up, then maybe you shouldn't be having children until you get it figured out. Watch the first 5 minutes of a horrible movie called Idiocracy. Worth it.

Good for you and thank you for this encouraging post! I too recently gave up a long-standing relationship with my regular doctor over the ludicrous mask issue. When I showed up for my most recent appt last month (first one in about 18 months) I was stunned to find they were still enforcing a strict mask policy. I asked if this was a recent policy change due to rising local cases or what? (Not that I have any clue about the local case rate - I’ve never kept up with any of that!) They said no, this has been their continuing policy for the past 2 1/2 years. ???

I was genuinely stunned….you’d expect doctors and medical staff (of all people!) to be right on top of the latest data and countless studies on masking. No end of quality data showing the utter lack of benefit of masking, while clearly showing the many very real harms. How can anyone put their trust in medical “professionals” who would still require masking at this point…?? Like you, I felt rock solid about my decision as I walked back out the door (45 seconds after arriving😜) knowing I would never return. I’ll be establishing a relationship with a new local doctor who doesn’t have a mask policy and who even caused quite a little scandal in our community last summer for openly prescribing a safe, effective and affordable drug for early covid treatment :).

I’m happy to hear you’ve also found one of the few remaining good doctors out there and will be getting quality care. Wishing you all the best! 🙏🏻♥️

Thank you for this and for standing up to the tyranny.

I just had dental work this morning and I was more stressed about having to wear a mask than the actual procedure. Just the thought of masks and seeing people wear them fills me with a simmering rage. What I hate is I had to have this procedure so I would have had to comply. Much to my delight no big ugly sign demanding a mask. No one was wearing one except for the dentist and assistant which is the norm. First medical establishment I've been to with no requirement. My regular dentist has the sign but doesn't enforce.

Just sick and tired of it all.
